Exercise 2. The Gratitude Exercise
I wrote a letter to my best friend whom I have not seen in more than 20 years, since we moved to different parts of the country. We communicate through email. It was easy to write to her, since we are similar in personality and character and we have shared so many experiences. But it wasn't easy putting my feelings into words. My gratitude for her presence in my life is so profound I cried all through the experience. Obviously, I can be pretty emotional. I loved this opportunity, and I encourage everyone to welcome it, as it will free your heart. I intend to take more opportunity to express my feelings for my loved ones and my appreciation for others, too. It's therapeutic.
